I have a program that will only run on a screen resolution of 1280 x 1024
or greater, but the program is very graphically nothing. I s there any way
to fake a screen resolution so that I can use this program on a lower
resultion?

Now that I've loaded the program the problem I am having is that the buttons
and some of the screen is off of my monitor. IS there a way to ad scroll
bars?

Your post lacks any detail to make any viable response.
For some reason you won't reveal the unusual software?
You can download the DirectX diagnostic tool from MS,
this can tell you all you need to know about your systems
video mode/capabilities:

This link is to the MS knowledge database archive re DirectDraw v7.

For some reason??? the software is PET5 does that help. It's the PORSCHE
parts manual. It doesn't contain any video or high end graphics it just
looks like the programmers preset the resolution size.

A simple and brief google rummage revealed:
It transpires it is specific to that software and is notorious for it as
well??
Apparently if installing from a cd-rom, it is within the configuration
settings
for the end user to configure for compatibility with their own settings and
hardware.
This appears to show an oblique European language conversion of Jap
instructions into English?

It is unique to that software and is not a windows, video, mediaplayer,XP,MCE
issue.
There appears to be a zillion forums for PET5 and Porsche, I suggest you try
them.
Type into google: Porsche,PET5
and you'll get all the sites.............
Good luck.
