Can I remove 'hotfixes' to free up disk space?

I am running windows xp on a computer with limited disk
space. I would like to know if once a quick fix,
or 'hotfix' has been installed, if I can safely remove it
under the "Add/Remove Programs" area of the Control
Panel. Any assistance would be appreciated!
