I use three notebooks (Dell, HP and Fujitsu/Siemens) with
WinXP Pro. All of them got the same problem:
After insalling USRobotics WLAN card driver (WLAN works
properly) and rebooting, windows almost freezes: task
manager shows that svchost service consumes 100% of CPU.
Uninstalling the drivers/software and disabling the new
device doesn't help - only System Restore brings windows
back to normal state.
The similar problem I experienced again on Fuj/Siem e2010
notebook after installing 3Com WebCam (which worked fine
on other notebooks) - something kills CPU totally.
Another symptom: something happens with DNS and network -
computer attempts to connect to IP address 0.0.0.0.
Connection is lost through LAN and WAN.
Has anybody experienced similar problem or can explain
what is happening?
Best regards, David
