Newbee on this. Have a HD DVR that I want to transfer some HD content to my
pc and eventually to DVD. It appears that most input devices that can
accomplish this is Mega$$$$. If I understand it correctly, most 'home'
version hardware will output SD video quality. Could I eventually place a
DVD into my DVD player and see HD on my HDTV the same as original?? TIA

NO
But Some DVI/HDMI equipped DVD players can perfrom a form of "upscaling",
but also
many HDTV's have exactly the same chipset for "upscaling" an incoming non-HD
signal,
But it is NOT HD.
And DVD is a set standard, and cannot carry Hi-Def meterial.
Type "Blu-ray" into google....................

Not until Blu-Ray and HD-DVD burners become common place.... and not even
players for these two formats are available yet.
