spontaneous computer shutdown

My computer is spontaneously shutting down for no known
reason. It has happened three times today. The computer
fan is not overheating. I thought that that might be the
problem at first. I am perplexed. I no longer go into
hibernation. ( I have a laptop). I immediately shut down
instead. Can anyone help me?
