This error appears to have been happening for awhile, but
recently, while troubleshooting a Cable/DSL router issue, I
found this error cropping up:

The SyGate for NT, wg4n service failed to start due to the
following error:
The system cannot open the file.

There are 5 of these in a row, each time the PC boots,
starting with wg1n and going to wg6n (there is no wg3n).

I have gone looking in the boot.ini, system.ini, the
registry, and everywhere else I can think to look.
I can't find out how to get the system to stop trying to
find and start this service.

I *DID* run a Sygate proxy service on the machine several
months ago, and I uninstalled the software. I can find no
mention of it now anywhere in the system.

Does anyone have any ideas I could try? I am running WinXP
Pro with all the latest Service Patches and updates. My
drivers are all up to date as well.
If you need my hardware, please let me know.

This is the error log from Windows:
