View Full Version : How do I speed up Start Menu popups?

I remember in Win95/98 there used to be a setting in the
registry that you could change to make the Start menu's
sub-categories popup instantly. Right now there's an
annoying delay when you mouse-over All Programs before the
contents actually get displayed. Happens with all sub-
menus actually. How do I cut the lag time out? Thanks in
advance.

Hi,
Open regedit and go to "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop". On the
right pane, look for an entry named MenuShowDelay and set its value to 0 for
the maximum menu popup speed.
Tweak UI for WinXP also lets you change the menu speed.

Hi,
Select the Menu section on the left and on the right you have the menu speed
control.
