View Full Version : Can't install Windows messenger on my Windows XP

I thought Windows XP came with Windows messenger? When I try to install it
from Microsofts site, a banner pops up and tells me that this is not a Win 32
application and then aborts the installation? Has this ever happened before?
Can I use my Windows XP CD to install messanger from there? I know others
with this computer do have messenger on their computer, so why am I having a
problem? Some suggesstions please, I have a eager nephew that is dying to use
this product with me. Hate to disappoint him.

Sounds like your download was corrupt (or you have more serious problems like bad RAM, a
virus, etc.), however what your nephew is probably trying to get is MSN Messenger, which can
be found here:
http://messenger.msn.com/download
