Hi. I keep getting massive slow downs in Win XP. Even
while sitting idle, if someone simply tries to move the
mouse, it'll slow down to a crashing halt, and
occasionally it actually will stop altogether and freeze
the computer. I'm running an HP Pavilion XP789, 1.01 Ghz
AMD Athlon, 512 MB RAM, Radeon 9000 pro series 128 MB
video card, and an 80 gig HDD. I contacted the people at
ATI, makers of the Radeon series, but they have not been
helpful at all yet, giving me mundane and obvious answer,
all of which I've tried. I've gotten everything up-to-date
here, so I'm pretty sure it's not that type of a problem,
although I'm 99% certain it's a driver problem. I just
don't know how to fix it. Any help?
