I guess it's more of a glitch than an issue, but for some
reason certain 3D applications with sound (like, for
example, the XP Plus Aquarium screensaver) clear the
desktop background after they have been run, leaving the
default desktop colour in its place. I'm fairly sure it's
a recent problem. I've no idea whether this is due to
Windows, a display setting, or my graphics card (ATI
Radeon 8500), but any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

How much Ram in your system? 3D Screensavers like XP Plus Aquarium
really put a Load on your Resources.
Also, go to www.rage3d.com and try a different Ati driver.

I've got 512MB of Ram, so I'm guessing that's not the
problem. I'm going to download a more recent Radeon
driver today, although I kind of suspect it's not a
driver issue either because I've had the current drivers
for ages, and like I said, I think the problem's only
started recently.

I was going to suggest a different driver but for the hell of it remove
your Ram from the slots and then reinsert.
Also, what's the watt rating on your PSU.
