I've become paranoid about malicious software after experiences with my
relatives machines, so I have take an additional measure with my own
computer. I've added a user account with limited privilages just for
exploring the internet.
My theory is that checking out the internet from a limit account would
reduce the damage malicious software could do. However, I noticed
things startup and shut down slower now. Also, sometimes I get a
message about DLA performing a task for another user when I try to shut
down.
My questions are these:
1) Is there merit to my theory? or is there no benefit to the sacond
user account.
2) Is the second user account up and running even though I never log
onto to it. If so, is it sucking resources? and I only have 512K would
more help this situation?
Thanks in advance!
