Hi
I have a pc which has recently been infected with virus and spyware
programs. I have removed all traces of these pesky programs but I still have
a problem when trying to run some programs via the shortcuts I have on my
desktop. I get the error
Windows cannot access the specified device, path or file. you may not have
the appropriate permission to access the item
If I browse to the exe file I can run the program and it works fine. But if
I try to run the program shortcut from start menu or desktop it fails with
that error. I have tried to recreate the shortcut and still same. I have
repaired the registry entries for .lnk and .exe files but still the same.
Strange thing is it only happens to some of my shortcuts.
Any ideas?
