Is there a folder in XP whose contents are deleted at every boot or
at every close down.

I want to nominate such a folder for some work files of an
application I am using.

I beieve History and Recent can be set to get cleared down each
session but I want to keep the contents of folders like those.

you could use the built in windows scheduling to run a batch file that you
could specify to run at boot or shutdown....

Put a shortcut to the batfile that deletes the folder contents in the
"Startup" folder on the Programs menu.
