Is your burner a -R, +R or +/-R? Some drives burn to -R media, some to +R
media and some will do either. You'll need to make sure the media disks
your using are compatible with your burner. Also, what software are you
using to burn it?

XP has no built in DVD burning software so it cannot do this. You must use
third party burning software like Nero or Roxio.

Hi dave,
the Burner is DVD-Rom, DVD+/-RW, CD-Rom, CD-RW.
I am not sure if I use a software, but what I do is, for example I want to burn a Movie, I have a copy of the file saved on my harddrive, and when I clik on it once it asked me to copy to cd, and I press ok, Then I go into "my Computer" on my desktop, and select my E: Drive in which the file shows in there and says this file is now ready to be burned on CD when I click on that it opens another window, where I can enter a name or leave it with the date that automaticley populates the box, and click ok, at that point I get the error message that the CD is either full or not writeable.
Thank you

Did your new burner come with any CD/DVD software? Did you install it?

The only thing that came with the Burner was a Driver Installation CD for Windows 98 ??, which I don't think I need. I am in the process of getting Software called NERO6, so I am going to try once it is finished downloading. Hopefully that will work. Thank you everyone for your help.
