On a brand new computer with Media Center, I was able to watch one DVD with
no issues. The next time I tried, the DVD played through to the end but I
then used the fast forward selection (with my mouse, I don't have the
remote.)

After using the fast forward command, everything went to hell. I lost some
(but not all) mouse functionality. Clicking within the title menu, the
commands sometimes worked, sometimes did not. Repeated attempts to click on
selections froze the program and I had to try to cntrl/alt/delete to get out
of Media Center. Event that didn't work and the program remained
"unresponsive" and seemed to be shut down by another level of Windows. (not
sure about this procedure, I'm new to XP)

I tried to play another DVD.... this time, the mouse click commands in the
title menu were barely functional. I finally got the DVD to play after going
back thru many "resume" and "restart" commands in Media Center.

About 15 minutes into the video, it hung or froze. It basically stopped and
I could hear peeps of sound, as if it were trying to start up again, but no
go.

On subsequent tries with various DVD's, I am unable to get past the title
menu. The mouse commands mostly do not work and if they do work, they take me
to a selection I haven't made. Getting the DVD to play isn't possible.

*****Just prior to the DVD beginning to play at all, I see a box that says
"Stopped" in the lower left corner of Media Center. There is no way to
interact with this box and the DVD begins with it's pre-title-menu items
after that. Then the title menu appears with the issues I've described
above.*******

I wish I'd bought a Mac.....
