I have a new Dell PC that won't boot up if my HP printer
is already on I just get a blank screen. If the printer
is off, it boots up fine. Any ideas??? Thanks.

What indication, error or otherwise, do you get when the printer is on?

Is it a USB printer?

If so, some computers see USB devices, especially those with any sort of
memory/storage capability as a bootable device or as a network boot device.
You might check in the bios and see how it's set to boot and perhaps set it
so that the only boot device is the hard drive.

Or contact Dell, if it's new, and see how good their customer service is.
Might as well find out before anything serious needs to be handled.

Yes it is a USB printer and it does have slots to read
picture cards (i.e. sony memory stick, flash card, etc) so
it sounds like that may very well be the issue!

Thanks for the info!
