private folders?

When I run windows for the first time when I go to the control panel or
explore to the windows folder there is a message that says that the contents
are hidden and if I *really* want to see them to click. I did that a long
time ago.

Now I'm wondering if there is a way to get that message to come up on a
folder of my own. Is the way to do that with making folders private? Or by
making them hidden?
