I have a HP 7260 Media Center computer, and am trying to get my cable TV to work on my computer. I am running the signal out of the wall into a digital cable TV box. From the box I am running S-video to the TV tuner in the computer.
When I play the regular TV chanels I get great reception, but when I try to watch a premium channel, such as HBO, I get about 10 seconds of great video and sound before the picture goes out and I get a media center error message stating that there is a security breach and the broadcaster does not allow these programs to be run on a computer.
This has only started within the last week. For the past two months since getting the computer, I have been able to watch all the channels with no problem at all.
Has anyone seen this problem and knows how to correct it?
Thanks

Do you have the latest updates for your Media Center relating to DRM
(digital rights management)?

In October 05 many cable providers implemented "C5" copy protection. As a
result, the cable box outputs that might be compatable with recorders are
often disabled. On our cable box, the firewire port will work if you have a
"cable card" and the appropriate hardware and software to use it. Otherwise,
you are stuck with either a conventional composite monitor, a HDTV monitor
using the appropriate analog inputs, or recording to the cable box internal
HD.
