I was using my computer and happy with XP when all of a
sudden...

I do 3d design work so it is nice and fast and I like the
operating system. But I rebooted in the middle of the day a
week or so ago and it was slow to boot up.

It does the quick dos screen and then jumps right to the
progress meter/splash screen, it completes this and then
the screen goes blank for about two minutes and the XP
opens like nothing was wrong. There are no warning screens
and I can't find anything wrong.

This computer only has access to the internet when I need
to update programs other wise it is cut off from the web.
The only Microsoft programs are Explorer and XP everything
else is set-up for 3d & video work.

Any suggestions?

You might want to try a different Graphics driver.
