Extra program button showing on the taskbar?

About 2-3 times in 1 hour a program button will show up in the taskbar. No
program starts or no window opens. It doesn't do anything when I click on
it, single, double or right click. It's a white outlined bar with a small
square white outlined on the left hand side. It doesn't have any writing on
it and when it shows it just appears and then dissappears.

First, make sure the computer is completely free of viruses and malware:
