Movie maker

I've loaded a dvd home movie onto my pc - comes out as an 'ifo' file ? but
when I try to get Movie Maker to load it, no luck, doesnt recognise the file
type. HOW CAN I LOAD DVD FOOTAGE INTO MOVIE MAKER. I only have it in DVD
disk format, not original from camera. Thanks for any help!

Your "dvd home movie" will be in a very specific dvd mpeg format - VOB.
VOB files are not compatible with WMM, you cannot load VOB files into
WMM.

You need an app to convert it to dv-avi or wmv to import into MM. Or you
could use an mpeg editor like womble.
