I have a file recorded using windows media center that i am trying to import
into sonic myDVD deluxe. Other files work fine but this particular file
errors ("One or more files could not be imported: The media has an invalid
format and cannot be imported."). I believe this program may have been
recording when we had a power glitch. I can view the program in windows
media player or at least through the credits. Anyway, can anyone recommend a
utility that will let me read the file and maybe convert it or save it into a
new file that i can then import into myDVD?

The latest versions of Nero, Roxio and PowerDirector will let you edit
MS-DVR files... but if it is that corrupted you may be out of luck.

I found a fix for my broken dvr-ms file. A Google search brought me to the
following link titled "Fun with DVR-MS":
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/dnxpmce/html/dvr-ms.asp
Here I found a sample application for editing dvr-ms files. I chopped off a
second or so from the beginning and end of my broken file and saved it. I
could then load the new file into myDVD with no errors. Hope this helps
someone else, too.

Try using VideoRedo at http://videoredo.com/
I have used this program to rectify several types of recording errors on
mpeg2 files. I believe they have a Free Trial period which will allow you to
try and buy if satisfied.
