2 messengers at once

everytime i open outlook express another messenger appears, then when i close
the second one, both close. how do i get rid of the second messenger.

this settings will disable the mesenger to open along with your outlook.

create a text file and add the following and save it as a .reg file
--------------------------from thebelow line.
REGEDIT4
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Outlook Express]
"Hide Messenger"=dword:00000002
-------------------------till the above line

some ppl also have problems of outlook being slow after disabling messenger
for this: go to Start > Run > regedt32
Navigate to the Registry Key below.

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT/Messenger.MsgrObject.

Right click on the Messenger.MsgrObject key and select rename. Rename it to
Messenger.MsgrObjectDisabled
