Hi all,
Would appreciate - some tech. help:
CASE:
Computer was getting increasingly slow.
Reinstalled Windows XP over current XP ie. did not delete
or reformat the hard drive.
On start up now - constantly goes into diagnostic mode
ie. blue screen & your hard drive needs to be checked for
consistency... so I let it run...six hours
later...finished checking files and folders, verifying
files and folders, verifying free space...etc.
(I've checked using msconfig and it does not appear to be
set for diagnostic start up - normal start up is
selected.)
Next start up - still very slow in opening then wants to
go through same Disk Check Fat32, check for consistency,
we-strongly-recommend-you-continue process again.
When overridden ie. pushing key within 10 seconds to void
disk check start - computer seems to work fine.
Have defraged - Have disk clean-upped.
Any thoughts?
