Movie Maker has some nice features for someone wanting to create a photo
slide show (including transitions and so on). But can it produce a VCD that
is readable on all TVs? I don't know what the HIMAT is the MM program refers
to but neither of our DVD players will read it. I also purchased Movie
Factory 4 with the understanding this DVD authoring program would enable VCD
creation with Movie Maker but when I try to open a MM slideshow in MF I get
the message "this file format is not supported in this version."

Thanks to anyone willing to help!

Gary, MM cannot make a vcd. After doing your edit, save the resultant file
as a dv-avi, then import this onto movie factory. It's possivble you are
trying to import the project file which won't go.
