c:\windows\system32\config\system not found...

I have to go to the Recovery Console on a WinXP machine
as it says the system file is missing or corrupt. I have
had this problem before and I have been able to recover
from it using the article307545 directions. This time, it
will not allow me to copy the system file to the tmp
folder or from the repair folder. Says it cannot be
found. However, when I do a dir, it shows that that file
is indeed in both locations. I need help fast!
