Runtime Error in Windows Messenger

I keep on receiving the below error message. I have tried reinstalling
Windows XP to no avail.

Runtime Error!

Program C:\Program Files\Messenger\msmsgs.exe

R6025
-pure virtual function call

Any advice would be greatly appreceiated

There's a number of issues over the years that could cause this to happen. I'd suggest
simply using MSN Messenger instead:
http://messenger.msn.com/download
