loosing connection

I have recently added a Linksys wireless router for my laptop but still

user ethernet for my desktop.

Lately i have noticed that on my desktop, i seem to loose the
connection for a few milliseconds and this causes my MSN messenger,
yahoo chat and other chat services to log out and then log back in
automatically. This is a real pain when IMing with people as I seem to
loose there response. This can happen every few seconds or every couple

of minutes.


I currently have McAfee virus scan turned off.


Can anyone try and help me with this?
