View Full Version : Computer beeps constantly under heavy processor usage

My MOBO manual says that the cpu over heating or running
at a lower frequency could cause this.

In the bios it lists the CPU temp as 38C/100F. Is that
normal?

Also, the core voltage is set for "auto" which says
1.525, yet the actual voltage reading says 1.44.

Also the +3.3 voltage reading says it's at 3.18.

Are these within normal paramteters? If not what can I do?

I manually cranked the core voltage up until the actual
voltage read about 1.5, but I couldn't do anything to the
+3.3 voltage reading, and none of this made the beeping
go away anyway.

Just wondering if these readings are normal!

Insistent BIOS beeping is usually an overheating CPU. Open up your case.
If it stops beeping, it's CPU overheating. If not, blast that CPU with
some canned air. If it stops beeping, it's CPU overheating.

Check your BIOS for any "abnormal" indications. Many BIOS screens will
show you your CPU fan speed and temperature in real time with danger
limits. It may be time to replace your CPU fan or at least clean it with
the canned air. You can stop your CPU fan with your finger. If it
doesn't start right up again instantly, replace it.
