Tall Screen

While watching a movie on Windows Media Player in full screen mode,
there is an upper and lower strip of screen geography that stays on
the monitor. Before, this strip would vanish after a few seconds
giving me totally full screen, only to return when I moved the mouse.
The vanishing stopped yesterday.......can I get it back?
