Hi everyone,
Having previously been working perfectly for several months my computer now
refuses to boot into windows with the nVidia VGA driver installed for my
6600GT. Having booted into safe mode it is possible to uninstall the driver
and having done this windows boots normally, but not having a proper display
driver installed makes using the computer normally impossible. When I try to
reinstall the driver the computer crashes and reboots, and windows will not
boot again. The problem appears to occur when windows tries to load the
nv4_mini.sys driver. I believe that the problem is caused by a conflicting
driver for another piece of hardware(?), but I have been unable to find out
which one. How can I track down the conflicting driver? Do you have any other
suggestions?
Thanks,
Simon

Have you tried using and older driver?
The latest and greatest is not always the best.

Hi Mike,
I've tried several different versions of the driver without any success. I
was hoping that a new version would sort out the problem, but it didn't.
I've also tried using Driver Cleaner after uninstalling the driver, then
reinstalling and also reinstalling the chipset drivers, but nothing made any
difference.

Any other ideas?

Simon.

Simon, rt click on MyComputer>select Properties>Hardware>Device Manager.
Look for a yellow mark next to any
of the devices. If none, try going to Start>All
Programs>Accessories>System Tools>System Info. Expand to
Components>problem devices. Also, try this free tool
