I'm trying to use Movie Maker to capture video from DV
camera (firewire), and Movie Maker recognises, and can
control the camcorder functions, (play, stop etc.) but
when capturing get nothing. Vieo plays on camera, but
nothing on the preview screen, no audio, no movement on
the video captured counter.

When I click finish, the following two error messages are
displayed in order :-

The specified video device is not responding. Verify that
the device is connected properly and turned on, and then
try capturing again.

followed by :-

filename.avi could not be imported. The selected file is
not valid or is currupted.

I tried it two other software and I am getting similar errors. I
reinstalled the Windows XP professional. Tried it again before
upgrading to SP2 and I could see video preview and could capture the
video but no audio. I upgrade to SP2 and there is no video preview or
audio.I cannot capture anything. I took the camera and the firewire
cable to the shop and connect3d to their computer running muli-media
edition of Windows XP and it worked without any problem. I have ASUS
A7N8-E Deluxe motherboard with ATI Radeon 9250 video card.

Your help is well appreciated.
