I am stumped as to what the problem is, I have 2 seperate drives
PIONEER DVD RW DVR-106
SONY DVD ROM DDU 1612
Both of the drives have always worked well, could play cd's, dvd's, cdrw,
ect......just until recently. I was unable to install and play Medal of
honour Pacific assualt, although I have done so before. this is when the
problem started So I contacted the game manufacturer and are none the wiser.
The problem became worse when both drives wouldnt recognise certain DVD's,
the drives spins as if its recognised the disks, but then dies off (this
happens on both drives but with a different noise) and freeze the pc until I
eject the disks. I can still watch some dvd's and play certain games with
DVD content. I have updated my firmware, although this didnt need doing, I
have been to both websites of the drives but my drives are the lastest ones,
disks that i cannot play have been test on another pc and they work
fine!....so any help will be much appreciated
