Here's my problem. I bought an external USB Hard Drive (250GB) -
Western Digital. I backed up my internal laptop hard drive onto the
external hard drive then formatted my internal hard drive while the
external hard drive still connected to my laptop. After restoring all
the OS to my laptop and reinstalling the Retrospect software for the
external hard drive, I can't see my back up files (*.rbc or *.rbf) from
the external hard drive. When I do properties to the external HD, I can
see that there is 16GB of used space which I assume the back up files.
My internal hard drive is NTFS while my external HD is FAT32, meaning
the format that I did to my laptop did not affect my external. Anyways,
I did everything I've seen about hidden files but to no avail I still
can't see my back up files. I called Western Digital for support but
they told me to contact Microsoft to get info on how to show these
files. Is there any way or tools that I can use to show my files?
Thanks in adavance.

Call whoever makes the Retrospect software. They should know how to access
the backup file(s) you created.

Did you try adding the external drive to the backup set ?? See the
Retrospect manual, page 178.
