I am using XP and when I initially set up my computer plug and play worked
fine. Then upon boot up would initalize then reboot. So I restored and now
printer no longer recognized, although it was never unplugged from computer.
Help!

That is the problem, "it was never unplugged". Unplug it and reboot
then install the software during which you'll be prompted when to
connect it to the PC and when to turn it on.
Uninstall and reinstall printer
