Hi,

we generate a whole bunch of pdf files using Reporting Services which we
then want to print. The files have file names that we use for sorting the
files when we print them. The problem is that Windows XP prints the files we
select in a random order, and not the order the files are sorted in.

We sort the files by file name, select all of them and right-click and
select Print. The files are then printed in a different order every time we
do this!

They will print in the order that the application sends them to the spooler.
Usually the smaller files will print first when you use the explorer process
to submit the jobs.

Set the queue to "Start printing after the last page is spooled" on the
printers properties Advanced page. Then pause the printer, send the jobs.
After all the jobs have completed to the spooler, right click on the job you
want printed first and change the job property to 99, then the next job to
98,..., then resume the queue.
