View Full Version : RunDLL32.exe iSSUE

Me Oh MY
December 12th 03, 08:17 PM
First off... it's late. I'm about to go to sleep.
Second off (?)... WHOA. I have two rundll32.exe processes
running 24/7. One slows everything down, but this is the
one that, if I end, will make the start menu all ICKY.
The other one seems to have no effect. When I close it
nothing really seems to happen.

Whats been annoying me... theres this 45-60 second freeze
up whenever I hit a "show [the] desktop" button. During
this freeze up, the desktop's icons go away briefly, and
reappear shortly after. You can still move the mouse
around, but you have to wait the time to actually do
anything.

What I found, is that when this "Start Menu Rundll[32]"
is closed, there is no wait.

So as you can see... I'm torn. I could go for the vanity,
the more visually pleasing: "Fancy XP Startmenu" or I
could go for the speed, and "Handidanyness" of the
working desktop button thing. I really don't want to have
to decide. Please tell me I can have both. PLEASE.

Any advice? Words of wisdom?

THANK YOU IN ADVANCE

P.S. There was another guy on this board who had a
problem very similiar to this (with the icons going away,
etc.)- didn't get a response. So keep in mind; I'm not
the only one.
