I have a folder on my desktop that holds my shortcuts. I want it to always
show up in icon view, and with the selected size folder.

About 90% of the time it returns to the default view for Windows Explorer,
(list).

I have yet to establish a pattern for when it shows up as desired.
Sometime's it changes the view to the default list view within a minute of
me changing it.

I hve also tried to get Control Panetl and Administrative tools to show up
in icon view without success.

It's not the end of the world but it is irritating.

Any ideas ?

Thanks.

Hi Ned,

WindowsXP will remember the settings of up to 400 folders, after that it
starts forgetting some. See this from MVP Kelly for a way to increase this
number:

Line 2, increase the folder view size limit to 8000
