pop ups

Every time I start windows I get at least three differant
pop-ups. All I want to see is my Windows short cuts and
nothing else poppuing up. How do I get these to stop?

If these pop ups have the "Messenger Service" in the title, you need to
enable the built in Firewall for XP.

Go to Start/Control Panel/Network Connections. Right click the connection
you use and select Properties/Advanced tab. Select the check box for the
"Protect my computer................." option. Apply/OK.

Get one or both of the following programs to check for and remove spyware
programs.
