I have a DELL Dimension that came with an FX5200 installed. V recently the
monitor has become unstable and keeps flickering and eventually the whole
screen freezes up and sometimes get a blue screen and a Stop Error message. I
can get rid of the problem by disabling the driver via the Device Manager.
I have tried updating the drivers (w drivers fron both Nvidia and DELL) but
no luck the same happens again....
any thoughts on what is going wrong here? Has the video card failed?
many thanks
Rob

First thing to check is that the fan (if it has one) on the graphics card is
still working. If it's failed and the PC is under guarantee, contact Dell.
If it's failed and the PC has run out of guarantee, consider replacing the
card.

If it's working but looks like it's under attack from the invasion of the
dust bunnies, get a can of compressed air and (carefully) do some spring
cleaning.

But it does sound like an overheating problem with the card.
