I have Windows XP Pro SP2 fully updated with Windows/Microsoft Update
(everything installed) and the Windows Messenger version I have is 4.7
(4.7.3001). There is a newer 5.1 (5.1.0701) version available and apparently
the only way to update it is to download it from the web site. Doesn't
Windows Messenger have an Auto-Update feature, or at least supposed to update
itself in Windows Update?

Greetings John,

Windows Messenger 5.1 is considered a different application from Windows Messenger 4.7. 5.1
is for the corporate desktop whereas 4.7 is for all Windows users. To avoid confusion, there
has never been an automatic update.
