Have 2 computers connected to same switch/router. Laptop
running 700MHz and getting 2Mbps download speeds through
cable modem. Sony Vaio running 1.3Ghz only getting
600Kbps through the same connection. I have tried
swapping cables, ports, changing speed and duplex
settings, increased TCPWindowSize, updated the NIC driver
in the Sony, and stopped about all non-essential
services, all to no avail. The LAN performance is good,
so it appears that it is a software issue, not a hardware
issue. Ideas?
