Well, I found out the cause of my problem of not being able to capture video
from my Canon ZR50MC. Apparently, the ZR50MC WILL NOT transfer video
recorded in ESP or LSP (long-play modes) to a PC. I switched to SP mode,
recorded a fw minutes of video and PRESTO, captured and played back to the PC
with NO PROBLEM. I then went back to the manual and found a single sentence
stating that "You cannot capture ESP or LSP mode recordings to a PC (as of
Jan 2002)". Well, it was nice to finally discover WHY, but this doesn't help
me with the 30 tapes I've recorded in these modes since I bought the
camcorder in early 2002!

So, this leads me to my current dilemna...does ANYONE have any ideas how to
capture ESP or LSP video to a PC???

You might want to check with Canon on this one.
