Ok.....A couple of days back I was in Windows Explorer drumming my fingers
looking for something. Strangely, I hit the right mouse button and dragged
the maouse a short way (yes....while drumming my fingers). One of my folders
the the pointer was on at the time is now gone - and it's contents also.
I've tried searching for both the folder and some of it's contents in case it
somehow got moved, I've checked the recycle bin, etc. to no avail.

Any suggestions? In 20+ years of computing, I've never seen this and am
baffled - then again I suppose it's something I've never needed or
experienced so have no experience in it

Open control panel,folder options,advanced,check:Show hidden files/folders
Uncheck:Hide extensions Close out,restart search,use the:Show hidden files
folders. If its in the system you should get results.

u must have dragged the folder to a differnt locations search for it in the
parent folder you were viewing when u perfomed this action u shd find it in
some of the subfolders there.

Hope this helps..,

Actually, I did do that earlier. Maybe I'm going at it wrong. What I need
to find are the folders that are missing - I've never asked if "search" looks
for folders, but it seems to me it only looks for files, since it askes for
all or part of the file name. To be honest, I can only guess at what files
might or might not be in the folder since I have files scattered over several
computers.

So, does "search" look for folder names? If so, it does not find the
missing folders......

Hey......I did expand every folder and subfloder under the "C" drive - I did
find it in the strangest spot; I thought I'd checked there before, but hadn't
gone deep enough I guess. Can't imagine how it got where it did - but thanks
for reply.
