I have the same problem, the following article I think details the problem,
which I think was caused by a recent update.

Link : http://support.microsoft.com/kb/906216/

I contacted Microsoft and they sent me a hotfix that is not publicy
available, I have installed it but I'm not sure if it has corrected the
problem or not, perhaps if you phoned Microsoft and explained the ActiveX
problem they may be able to give you a case number to talk to an engineer to
resolve the problem.

Hi,

Do you trust the site? If so, then you can add it to the list of trusted
sites and allow the control file to run (generally that only happens on the
initial visit). If you don't trust the site, then do not allow the control
file to run. Read here on what these files are and why you must make the
decision on whether or not to allow one to run:

You'll have to get used to it I'm afraid.

It's a new behaviour of IE introduced by Microsoft during the monthly patch
upgrade last Tuesday 11 April to sidestep a court decision -- they're in a
patent battle with a startup called Eolas -- which did not go their way.

More info here:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/912945/en-us

Some background to the change can be found here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eolas

Eolas has only targetted Microsoft (and IE) in defence of their patent to
date.

Firefox and other browsers have escaped the wrath of Eolas for the time
being so you won't see any changes in those browsers.

This is caused by a recent windows update to comply with the settlement of
the Eolas patent infringement lawsuit.

Eolas has stated that it will give Open Source apps a pass on licensing
their patent.

This is Karma for MS and their large assortment of tech patents.

I thought this had something to do with Eolas, so basically the fix I have
recieved is not a fix for this issue because its not an issue but a change to
the way ActiveX is handled in regards to recent Eolas and Microsoft issues.

I rang Microsoft who were no help at all they said i had to call my
manufacturer of my computor , which i already had done I told them i have
got informatiom from the newsgroups , one of which had been sent a link to
resolve the problem but she only offered support if i paid £ 49 -00 I
refused so looks like I ,ll have to put up with it.
