Startmenue stopped working

Since a couple of days I cannot use the Startmenue anymore. I can select any
menu item in the classical view but the mouse click just closes the start
menu and nothing happens. The same is true for Quickstart items the thre
items displayed are working correctly but the others accessible via the
double arrow will be closed approximately half a second after hitting the
arrows with no chance to use them.

Any help would be appreciated
