Runtime error

I am running Windows XP home edition. Using Word. I
regularly get a "Runtime Error" and Word then closes
down. I cannot find what a "Runtime Error" is; What
causes it; how to avoid it. It does save the file I am
working on, but it is also very annoying.
Please help.

Google.
