Apologies if posting this question in this thread is a mistake.
This is the second and last thread I'll put it in, at least until I see what
happens:
Beginner Windows XP
Every few weeks something goes wrong with my CD drive.
It starts jumping tracks in an audio CD, and/or says it can't read a data
disk.
From the last time it happened, I have the impression that System Restore
might have solved the problem.
Is that likely?
Is System Restore dangerous?
Is there a big difference between System Restore and ALT CTRL DEL?
Thanks for any help you can give me. David in Bangkok

Replacing a CD is fairly easy. If you don't feel comfortable in doing
it, take the system in to a repair shop.
