System Shut Down RPC Service Terminated Unexpectedly

I have the same problem. When I connect to ATT.Net I can
load about one or two pages and then get an error box
stating that "The Remote Procedure Call (RPC) serivce
terminated unexpecedly." System was working ok before I
left on vacation.

Sony VIAO Desk Top w/Windows XP.

Any Suggestions?

I checked Microsoft KB but all of the articles are very
specific for certain programs. Nothing that I could find
that pertains to IE 6.0 and XP. Problem is not present
when I am not on the interent.

Open XP's "Help and Support" and type: FIREWALL , and hit enter.
Click on the topic titled "Enable or Disable Internet Connection =
