Did you make any changes to the Administrative Section of
Windows XP? Try going into your Control Panel--
>Administrative Tools-->Services. Go down the list and
look for the Cryptographic service. Double click on it
and make sure it's startup type is set to automatic.
Also, (I am not sure if it applies to this sevice), check
the other tab in that options menu and see if there are
any options set to terminate that service if the PC
crashes and disable them.
